We have been busy in the shop, and we are excited to share what we have been building. First up - a kids-sized aluminum picnic table, built from scratch right here at Lakeside Hills Fabrication. The whole idea was simple: a properly scaled table that actually fits shorter folks instead of leaving kids dangling off an oversized bench.

The build started with raw aluminum extrusions laid out flat and clamped into position. Every section of the tabletop and bench surfaces got carefully aligned and welded together, stitch by stitch. That close-up of the weld beads running along the frame spine tells you everything you need to know about how we approach aluminum welding - consistent, clean, and built to hold up for years without rusting out or rotting like wood.

The finished table sits at a kid-friendly height - right around 27 inches from floor to tabletop as measured during our build check - and the ridged aluminum surface gives it a look that is both functional and sharp. No paint to peel. No wood to splinter. Just solid aluminum that handles whatever gets thrown at it outdoors.

We are also showing off a pair of our custom outdoor fireplaces. These angular steel chiminea-style units have a bold geometric shape and a matte dark finish that looks great on any patio. The hexagonal fire bowl that sits at the base is a nice touch - practical and built to last. Temple Home and Property will be featuring our fireplaces and firepits at the Home and Outdoor Living Expo at the Willmar Civic Center this weekend, and the kids picnic table will be there too.

If you have been thinking about a custom piece - whether it is outdoor furniture, a fireplace, or something else entirely - this is a great chance to see our work up close. Come find us at the expo and check it out in person.
